"Early" E9 steering wheel

I borrowed this picture from the registry. My car also came with this steering wheel, instead of horn buttons on the spokes there are simply cutouts in the middle.

Take a close look and you'll see what I mean.

Was this fitted to early cars only? Or?

The 71 Euro 3.0CS I stripped at the junkyard had this type steering wheel on it.....if that helps.

I have a 71 2800cs and have the original wheel that is in your picture.

My 73 CS had that wheel, I have since swapped to a wood Nardi.
