Did anyone see a Fjord/Tan for sale on eBay in the last two weeks or so? A friend here in HB bought it and I never saw the ad, seller closed the auction early. Wonder if anyone has a link to the ad.

Automobile Locators International is proud to offer this beautiful 1971 BMW 2800CS in fjord blue with tan leather. This was the 1st big 6 cyl. BMW coupe - the forerunner the 6 series. It is a US car (As one knows there are a lot of grey market Euro cars out there with velour and no AC or Sunroof). The third owner purchased this beautiful example in 1989 with 108k mi. and it now has 117k mi so they added 9000 mi in 21 yrs - (the 2nd owner owned the vehicle only briefly, and the first owned lived and garaged the car in California). The body is in excellent condition - so important to these cars as the Bertone bodies were prone to rust. The shock towers are rust free as well (a common problem). The car drives extremely well. The engine is strong and the car has recently had a full tune up including replacement of the front brakes. Tires have less than 1000 mi. on them. The car drives in an amazingly contemporary way for a 40 yr old car. The car has a gorgeous Nardi wood steering wheel, koni shocks and dual weber carbs 9 replacing the stock Strombergs). The front seats have been recovered, and the current owner replaced the rear seats. Overall the interior is in very good condition. The genuine wood dash is perfect except for a couple of minor spots on the passenger door and the drivers headrest has been patched. The rear seats have a few minor cracks on the top but are generally in excellent shape. The paint job is good but has some cracking.

The car is very solid even at 80 mph. The front power windows work well but the driver's side is slow. The rear windows will still go down but will not go back up without manual help. The AC does need a Freon recharge which should be checked before purchase. In the past 21 years this car has never sees rain any way and has ALWAYS been garaged.
