ecu for 72 csi???

IIRC the ECU for a Volvo 164 will also work. Then there's the aftermarket injection systems, some of which might adapt more or less readily to DJET...
 
so just the ecu is needed from a Volvo?

Are you saying an ecu from a 164 volvo is a direct hook-up, no wiring changes?
I was thinking an ecu from any other 72 coupe would work, are they impossible to find or just crazy expensive?
Wouldn't the injection system be on the car along with the harness?

There are two on Evilbay now. Search BMW Bavaria ECU. One's $50 the other is $100.

There are shops which rebuild/ sell just ecu(s).

For just a little more... Megasquirt,1. can run it. I know of at least two euros that went that way.

Or convert to a new ecu/ basic motronic. First Five guys did and have great write ups.79/80 528. Or go all the way to 1.3 and a 179 box.
