Hello Folks
I badly need at least two window regulator transmission gear box(BMW calls them clutch with worm gear in realoem.) or at least the plastic gear inside the box. Does anyone has any suggestions ?
I rebuild the motors and the work great but the gears are chewed up on two out of 4 causing it to spin freely...

Thank you

Are the E 28 motors the same as the 1973 one piece motors. Both of my friends cars with one piece motors are way slower than my sardine can motors even after I cleaned their tracks. Mine are very quick

Forget the old "sardine can" motors and separate gearboxes. It's less work to convert to the more powerful e28 motors with integral gearboxes. And when you're done, your windows will operate faster and be less prone to sticking.

I don't know the answer to that. But the website I cited in post #3 has numerous pictures of e28 motors - do they look the same as your one-piece, '73 motor/gearboxes?

Well, what can I say? Mind is much faster with the e28 motors and most other people report the same experience.

There are a lot of other factors beside the motor that influence window speed; two biggies are how much current actually reaches your motors (e.g., how much resistance is in the fusebox, switches, connectors, wiring, ....) and how well aligned your window tracks & window wipers are. It takes more than cleaning and lubricating to reduce the force required to operate the windows.

Thank you very much ! I read through the site very well written instructions with great pictures. Seems like a great option for front windows. My issue is with both the back regulator gear boxes with my 71 CS2800. The front ones are working great! I will leave them alone for now and in time get couple of E28 motors as back for future!
