Electric windows

Hi all,
It is finally nice enough here in Indiana to bring the coupe out of the garage.

I have purchased e28 electric window lifts as suggested but have not found instructions on how to install them. Does anyone know where I can locate this info.

The rear window lifts are the ones you want.

The install is prett straightforeward:
1. remove old window regulators from car
2. remove old motors and transmissions from regulators
3. cut off a holding flange to make room for the E28 motor's transmission
4. bolt up new motors to regulators
5. reinstall regulators

There is a bit of a catch, though. You have to drag a ground wire to each of the switches, as the old motors had a ground wire on them while the new ones don't. You then connect the switches like this:

Motor +------| |------Power (12V)
Ground -----| |-------Motor -

That is what the pins look like if you are looking at the switch with the pins facing up.

The bottom line is to ground the open lug on the window switch. I have mounted the fist one into the regulator assembly and will install it tomorrow. One thing to look out for is the tension spring can release quickly when you remove the gear drive and the arm will spin. I have more information on removing the regulator from the door, PM me if you need that.
