Gents, do you know if the old BMWs 5-PIN round connectors (black/white) are available somewhere? They look like taken from Home & Office appliances o_O

Also what about the terminals (male & female).

Might be, the only source is the old wirings from E3s/E12s and E24s (cs/csi) but would be great to find new still available.

How many 5 pin round ones are in a coupe? I thought just for reverse light under dash. This supplier has many items.

Just to clarify, you don’t mean these do you? Five pin connectors with round terminals (window switches):

Germany makes great connectors- available here in the states.

if you are repairing your harness- I believe Lucas makes the best smoke replacement kit.

Thanks for a lot of ideas and links.

@HB Chris
Great shop. Many interesting items.
I checked multipole connectors and they have some for spade connectors indeed. Thanks!

@Markos
Yes. I was thinking about some others but these are also "nice to have".
As far as I know this is very popular system, commonly used in many German cars including MB and Porsche.
This was produced by old German Company named Kostal.
Same system was used for decades by BOSCH.
For example this "Family" was used for ABS system in 80's (E30, E28, E23, E24) - connector from car harness to ABS Hydraulic Unit
Pins are covered by Silver and soldered. Really well made but not waterproof by design.

@sfdon
Yes. Lucas is on the market for a long time.
I think they are originally coming from UK and many cars were equipped with Lucas equipment.
It was more like BOSCH but for UK. Especially when OE car suppliers we rather from the same country (France: Valeo, Sagem, Germany: Bosch, Siemens, Hella...)
Lucas has been taken over some years ago by Delphi (previously GM Delco). Not sure who own them as Delphi spread into APTIV and Delphi Technologies (currently Borg Warner).

I'm in EU, so good connectors are from TE/Amphenol. They keep delivering still OE parts.

My question was rather for specific connectors which were only used in 70's/80's.
Spade-shape connector system is available in many flavours today, but agree some specific connectors are unable to be bought. I know from this forum some of them can be 3D printed :) .

A good example is the connector @Luis A. make a picture of: headlight motor connector

I know similar is used in E3 (at least) for fender-mounted indicator lamp but grey colored.

For sure they are somewhere but how to find them?

Same for Kostal (windows, sunroof) switch's connectors.

I agree with Don, best damn smoke in the business After all, Lucas has years of experience

As a Jag owner I take particular offense at the negative implication. Everyone with a British car knows Lucas was a real Prince.....the Prince of Darkness ;-)

I've just heard the same sentence (Prince of Darkness) from the shop specializing in old Jags repairs. ;)

It seems the only source of specific (different than spade type) connectors housings is car wiring from similar age or 3D printing.

Still the question about the crimp terminals.

Does anyone know, which chemistry is eating the greenish oxidation in a delicate way not to dissolve also the terminal? o_O

You have heard of the old saying as to why the English like warm beer? They all have Lucas Refrigerators

That has also been told that time...

Magneti Marelli was not very best from quality perspective.

Looking on BOSCH connectors... They have in most of cases only surface silver oxide which can be made nice and shiny just by rubbing it with a cloth
