Elvis in Bombe

The August Bombe just arrived, and in the coverage of the Sonoma Historic Races is a picture of Elvis! The shot is of the left front quarter with the BMW Corral in the background. The Bombe is the monthly newsletter of the Golden Gate Region of BMWCCA.

That was a funny day, had to run an errand in Marin, took the coupe out for the rip over the bridge and East Bay back roads. My brother calls who was crewing for a couple cars racing the event saying he had an extra pass, met him at will-call at lunch wondering how far I was gonna have to park/hike back to the pits/track. The BMW club flagged me thru to the club parking (wasnt reg'd or anything) and proceeded move some cars and park me on center stage..whoa!..."Hey guys, thx for the great parking spot!! I wish I would have washed it had I known..." The GGC BMW Club was very nice.

Was later asked by them if wanted to do a few parade laps with the club...SURE! so my brother and I ripped a few 'parades'..got a couple good squirts in, love that track!

August Bombe

It'll be next week before the membership receives their copy. As an area rep I get advance copies for the local shops and new members.

Sounds like you had a fun day there, went to that race in the 90's once when it was the Wine Country Classic. It's only going to get better with Steve Earl involved.
