My 1974 US e9 emergency flashers are mysteriously coming on randomly. Does anyone know the location and relay type?

Should be a button near your right knee. The switch is known to fail. Pushed in is off, the catch mechanism fails allowing it to release to the on position.
There are jokes around where drivers always keep a toothpick in the glovebox to wedge in the button.

It is the switch that is popping out. Thanks. The toothpick fix is a good idea until I can replace the switch.

If you are adventurous you can try to repair the switch, some of us have had luck doing so. But have a spare available, you lose turn signals if this switch is removed. (At least in the early cars)

I repaired mine… it’s not a bad job at all. Google it and you’ll find several threads here about it.
