When Emerson Fittipaldi together with his father and brother Wilson became the official Brasilian BMW importeur, BMW Germany issued a press release (dated 19/9/1974). In this press release it says that Fittipaldi has got a small BMW collection, in Lausanne in Switzerland, including a metallic-green 3.0 CSL (Taiga?).

Maybe someone on this forum living in Switzerland knows more about this CSL (if Fittipaldi still owns it etc)?

It could be a a late 2275, a 4355 CSL or a racing version. More info is welcome.

Cheers

Indeed, the CSL on the picture above is a really nice CSL. However, I don't think this is the Emerson Fittipaldi CSL. The press release about Fittipaldi's CSL is dated 19/9-1974 and the Taiga CSL on the picture above is produced in July 1975 (one of the very last produced 4355 cars). Logically, Fittipaldi's CSL must have been produced before 9/1974.

Cheers

I believe there were 4 Taiga Bats:
4355016
4355036
4355049
4355054

4355016 was delivered in Germany in February 1974. When we bought it in Colorado this year it wore Florida plates. That's about all we know about its history! Would love to know which was Emmo's.

My Bad`

Sorry, guess I just got excited that Jimmy might be back, think he has sold most of his inventory

I have seen pictures of Fittipaldi in an early E24 in Brazil I think.
That is why every time I drive my E24 I feel like Fittipaldi and that is what I tell the CHP officer.

A recent driving pic of Emmo from a couple of weeks ago.

His daughter was in my daughters class many years ago and I dropped her off at his house for a birthday party (in my Taiga coupe). He did not mention his CSL but did invite me in for a drink. A brazilin drink called caipirinha which as in his words was "fantastic".
