So, I removed my engine bay light in order to install a strut brace, and now find the light cannot be reinstalled because it contacts the brace.

I could fashion a small bracket to move the light downward toward the front of the car, but was wondering if anyone has purchased or made an alternative light I might consider?

I'll be curious to hear if anyone has a solution for this. While I don't have a strut brace, my air cleaner is shifted rearward due to Weber DGV's + JAMkit and that caused the back of the air cleaner top to chew into the plastic lens on the hood light. My (poor) solution was to remove the lens, but keep the light base. Not ideal I'll agree.

So one conclusion from all this is that the hood light was a tight fit. You'd think the guy in Bavaria manning the CAD station could have done a better job!

so the first question is - which strut brace? i have one of Andi's braces ... but haven't put it on yet ... waiting until i put on the neg camber plates and do it all at the same time.

I have an IE brace and Weber carburetors. The under hood light must just touch as a hole has been worn through the new lens. The old (original?) lens was broken and I suppose that is how it happened. After the new paint went on, I got a new light and I just noticed the "wear point".

Perhaps you can mark the spot and then use a round file to make the extra space needed?

Got the brace from La Jolla; and I have the same tape up the wires solution right now as mentioned above.

I rather liked the light, however, and bought a new one off ebay that is in good shape, so I would like to get it installed.
