I have what appears to be an original 3.0 engine, cast 71 ( corresponding to a 72 coupe) , 82 head w/ fuel pump opening for carbs, the carbs are standard jets. ( stamped +2130797+ on the pad above the starter)

The damper has written on it in two places with yellow paint marker 3441 very deliberately. Which I also assume has a meaning to the builder of the engine some years ago.

Is there a bore /stroke combo out there like this? I know that you can get close to that on a 3.5; maybe overbore adds a little
more.

Best regards,

61Porsche

The engine was replaced in my `73 and has no number above the starter but there are numbers right behind the head so look there as well. Yours must be a replacement block. Perhaps that number relates to the later 5 series e12? Mine is stamped 530 U S.
