So, as noted in my engine blockage thread, I borrowed a borescope from a buddy yesterday and spent a chunk of time examining Annabelle.
Pistons seem to have been made in Germany; well and good:
Shadows are rather odd.
I also found some numbers I cannot discipher, and more mysterious shadows:
This corner on the top of the piston leads me to wonder...
Those look like piano top pistons from what I have read. Isn't it dd that they would be found in a 72 3.0. I thought those appeared in the DJet CSi.
Again, the number above the starter matches my VIN; but I have a 79 head, so she has previously been modified.
I'm now rather anxious to assemble Annabelle to the point where I can check my compression.
