Hello
i have a newle restord 3.0 cs polaris and i checked my engine number and it is 2260697 but it is not orginal motor,the qestion is from what car is it from

The Motor is from 3.0 CSI (Injection-Engine)

Generally speaking, only engines that had soft or no valve seats required leaded fuel. BMW's aluminum cylinder heads used hardened seats and therefore could operate without leaded fuels. You bigger concern may be your engine's octane requirements, depending upon its state of tune. It may run fine on what's available with a bit of pinging or you may have to slightly retard the timing from the stock setting.

From the little information you provided there may be very little difference between your original 3 liter long block and your 3,0csi transplant - other than the stamped number and possibly a slight increase in compression. The major difference would have been the induction systems (carburetors vs. fuel injection). The manual suggests that compression ratios were slightly higher in the csi (9.5:1 versus 9.0:1), but I have found at least one example of a stock Euro-market cs using identical 9.5:1 pistons as found in the csi. Since you have a different block, without doing some more detective work, it is anyone’s guess exactly what pistons you are currently using.
