Want to get an idea of what engine oil I should use.
Need high zinc content, correct?
Brand?
Weight? (I am in the North West-if that matters)
Should I go with synthetic?
Any additives?

Engine:
Completely stock 72' E9
Good Compression on all cylinders

As always, thanks for the input.

Zinc

Looks like the Fisher Oil may be a good choice.

Why was Fischer Brand Classic Car Motor Oil developed?
In 2002 we developed this product specifically to help cure wear problems that a restoration customer was having with a classic car. Our customer was seeing signs of scuffing and cam lobe wear on a classic car engine with flat tappets. This problem was being caused by the reduction of zinc in newer motor oils. We formulated our Classic Car Motor Oil to help deal with these problems which resulted from government mandated new air quality standards that caused automakers to equip cars with more stringent catalytic converters. It is this reduction in zinc (ZDDP) that has benefited newer cars at the expense of older cars.

Power Punch

Also, the guy I bought the car was using this oil supplement called 'Power Punch'
Any opinions on this?

Also using mineral oil suitable for old engines.

That's the oil the engine was breastfeeded with :)

I guess if I feed the engine with hyper modern, like "RedBull similar effect Oil" :)
the old M30 would start to leak all over. Right or wrong?

I am switching from Castrol 20/50 to Valvoline VR1 20/50 since it reportedly has more zinc.

Zinc

I think zinc is used as a lubricant for flat tappet engines like a Chevy 350 small block. I don't believe zinc is necessary in overhead cam engines.

Same kind of sliding surfaces between the cam and the rocker. Same lubrication issues.....
