Engine rebuilding kit?

Hello All,

The original BW automatic has been completely rebuilt, including a new torque converter. So onto the engine. According to the mechanic the engine has never been apart and is in good condition. In concert with a top range machine shop he will be doing a complete rebuild. He said he wants to go with European and not American Spec. The question is who sells top notch rebuild kits?

I appreciate any information you may have.

nobody that I know of.
wise choice to go with Euro pistons with their higher compression but be advised none available in stock size.
try Walloth for oversized after you bore cylinders

Hey Don, shouldn't he get pistons first and then bore and hone block to match those pistons instead of boring first and then getting pistons ? That's what I would do

Hello,

Thanks for the info. After some reading it appears the choices I have for forged pistons are Mahle and JE. Given my application/goal is for an engine that is durability and not very powerful (200 hp at the crank) is one brand that much more preferably to the other? I like the idea of forged to reduce mass.
