Engine swap

So, at the close of the day. First time on a lift. Floors un-patched original solid need only cleaning up. Rockers under the plastic ground effects appear to be very good. I'm not removing them now. Trans looks like a four speed. I removed and cleaned out fuel tank. Wasn't too bad. Began replacing fuel lines. Some steel some rubber. Most of the steel ones are ok, but in the rear they look a bit dicey near the diff. . ImageUploadedByTapatalk1410231448.306422.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1410231461.022997.jpg
Exhaust is rough. Brakes need cleaning and pads for now. With some luck, I'll be burning gas in a few days. Probably wont be breaking original engine down for a few weeks. Fred

So I'm hoping the last of my exhaust gaskets arrive tomorrow and I can put the motor in the car. On a good note I broke down the original Csi engine and freed it up. That motor looks healthy. So I will think on how to proceed with the original. Probably a refresh. For now I am going as planned and put in the 530i motor. I have swapped exhaust manifolds and deleted the egr etc. repaired all hoses and lines and a few seals. So with a little luck this E9 will be a driver for the first time since the 80s . And once I button up some other projects I'll do a complete tear down of this one and return the original taiga green color. Fred
