Engine swap

Does anybody know if the motor/man. transmission from a 735i, 1990 mod, fit in my 3.0csi?
That is with no major modification to mountingbrackets etc. I would like to swap my old engine, but as I have never tried to remove/install an engine/trans. before, I need to keep it as simple as possible. Thankful for any answer on this subject.

You will need to buy some mounting plate adapters from Carl Nelson, or make them yourself. The block casting changed slightly with the later engines (M30B35) such that the stock (e9) brackets no longer fit.

The transmission may not fit, as the only transmissions sure to fit are from E28s. If it is the same, then it should, with a lot of convincing.

Oh, a suggestion: do not try to remove the engine/trans from the car while in the garage, as the cieling will limit your vertical travel, especially if you are working with the garage door up.
