Can anyone tell me what these wires / plug belongs to. It is attached to the wiring loom carrying all of the wires to the carbs and comes out on the loom near the carb closest to the firewall. I can’t see anywhere that it plugs into the carbs so thinking it must be something else.

The plug is a thin oval style. one wire brownish, other green with red stripe.

Note I have a 74. Any help is much appreciated.

Green and green/red are used for carbs most likely, are wires connected to water chokes, rectangular enrichment devices, temp sensor under the manifold, idle solenoids?

Do you still have any of the magnetic valves that are attached to the firewall, this looks like one of those connectors Most of the choke / carb stuff was one wire

I was suspecting exactly that so very happy for the clarification. It would make sense that this is it as I no longer have those valves and the location of the wire is right where they would be. Appreciate it!

While on the topic - is the temp sensor on the bottom of the front manifold necessary? I've read that it was specifically tied into some of the emissions systems on the 74 and had no other purpose. Can anyone confirm that to be the case?

Thanks all!
