NMNA Looks pretty original in the limited photos. Even with the extra mirrors. Listed as a BMW “3001” Can’t they read the trunk emblem? Hefty 25% buyer’s premium.
@rsporsche VIN 2240568 couldn’t find it in the ancestry project.

Wow, 25% premium... Why would you consign an item to them when you're giving up 15% of the sale price to a greedy auction house? Moreover a house like Mecum reaches a lot more enthusiasts and will likely bring a better sale price. When the item is small and only a few dollars a 25% premium makes sense, but once you get north of $20k that is just giving your item away.
 
as an estate auction, its one stop selling ... but i agree, with a car that looks to be in very original except the fender mirrors. probably a january / february 1973 build. it has the 'eared' headrests. the interior seems to be in very good shape and the car appears to have been repainted as the color is more of the 'brown' malaga. but at the estimate of 50k to 60k it could be a worthwhile purchase. agree with the lack of pics, but it is just an uninformed auction house who probably knows the quality of stuff inside the house. anybody interested to should contact them for more detailed assessment.
 
from 2800cs thru early 73 the headrests were basically flat across the top. in mid / late 73 models the headrests became eared - notice the stitched diagonals and raised ends of the headrests below. the 74 model also had the eared headrests but the post diameter went from 10mm to 12mm.

So the first link above is from an auction listing website. Below is the link from Thomaston Place Auctions. They’re auctioning the e9 and other several cars next month, 6/29, including a Mercedes Pagoda. I suspect they’re all from the same estate. Looks like they specialize in art and antiquities, cars are not a speciality. In reading the fine print it states that there’s an “up to” 25% buyer’s premium. I may call them this week for clarification.

I don’t recognize it. A 1973 with correct rear bumper but 1972 or earlier front bumper. 2.5 hours north of me, about half hour north of Andrew.
 
There was an auction near my house decades ago where the 2800 CS did not sell. After the auction, the auction house accepted sealed bids. The coupe was a parts car, rusted out and I bid $2000 but was outbid by $29.00!! Perhaps it won’t sell and can be scooped up?
 
Those are 333 Talbot mirrors. They were available with either round, square, or oval lenses. The 2000CS had them. I bought them in Germany and put them on my 2002. That was just one of the things I did to make my $4200 2002 look like the $12,000 3.0CS that was in the showroom on May 31, 1972 when I bought my car as a 26-year-old.
