Ooooh! I attended most of those back then, but didn't get to own one until 2001 for my 50th birthday. The Monterey Historics is where I met my first coupes, and wanted one ever since.

Awesome. I believe `89 is when BMW was the featured mark and Carl Nelson and others who used to organize the coupefests got to drive their coupes on the track. Might there have been over 100 coupes at that event? I know Blumax was there.

I also found some old photos I took from the Laguna Seca event where BMW was the featured mark (I think 1996). I'll post em up once I get around to scanning them.
