Hi,

I have an agreed valuation policy with my insurers but am having difficulty in getting them to give me a realistic figure for my CSL (non Bat). I have suggested a figure and they have come back with a lower one saying how they have based it on auction results, adverts etc. a standard repost but without any foundation given that their figure is so out of touch.

I wondered whether anyone is keeping a dossier of auction results, recent adverts and trends for me to throw back at my insurers?

I am not being greedy but just want a realistic valuation should the worst happen. Maybe this is something the Forum could administer (as long as we work on actuals and not hearsay) as surely I'm not the first to have insurer/value problems.

Regards,

Paul

(I have deliberately not mentioned any figures in this post as I don't want to get into a 'how much is my car worth' conversation.)

Hey Paul,

great to see you and the other guys Saturday.

I insure with hagerty now and they have been absolutely brilliant. Who are you with? I just did an agreed valuation at £35k for the yellow car and they didnt say anything as long as i provided pics.

Hi Paul - I have the same positive feedback concerning Hagerty. I sent you a pm with my policy details.

I'm with Hagerty too. They are very knowledgable and even suggested a higher valuation for my CSL to the one I suggested based upon their knowledge of recent trends.

Thanks guys for your advice.

I've just called Hagertys. It's slightly more than I have been paying but in terms of service and cover, no problem. Where as my current insurers were 'trying it on' in terms of playing down the valuation Hagertys' view is to make sure I have the right product with the correct amount of cover.

What a breath of fresh air.

Paul
