I've had my exhaust manifolds trued and the 6 old crusty downpipe studs removed, I have both ss and regular ones to replace them with, is ss a no-no due to it's hardness vs the other metals, or should I use them given the harsh environment they are subject to? I've got the copper nuts for both the head and downpipe attachments. TIA

It's easy to think that stainless steel is the go-to for durability, but it's far enough away from steel and copper on the galvanic scale that you'll likely get increased corrosion.
