Toyota is trying to make electric vehicles with fake manual transmissions to appeal to consumer nostalgia

The new models would include a clutch pedal, simulated downshifting, and even jolt if drivers shift into the wrong gear.

I gotta try that! May improve the electric car experience for me. Test drove a Tesla and really did not enjoy the driving experience. It may have had to do with my friend launching it several times in Ludicrous mode with me in the back seat of the car with the car sales person in the passenger seat. By the time I drove it I was a bit woozy. The 0-60 2.5 seconds with no engine noise was like a roller coaster launch...and I do not like roller coasters!
