I just read the Noble Carriage article and noticed on page 62 the quartet of photos "Features of the E9 coupes put it in a special class of classic BMWs" the top left photo, although it resembles the side "gills" on the E9 are actually the C pillar vent grills for what seems to be a 2002 Touring. Not to mention the dramatic difference in color...

I noticed that too, but wasn't able to identify the vehicle they belonged to. Excellent work.
