Do any of you keep fire extinguishers in your cars? I keep Halotron 1 units in all my US cars, but this is banned here in the UK and EU. So what do you use here...the messy dry stuff or foam or ???

Thanks,

AFFF is used by the rallying crowd these days (ie me)
You can get a 5Kg plumbed in system either manual fire or electronic and hand held 2Kg
Suppliers like Demon Tweeks can advise

Go with AFFF foam as it is easier to clean up if gawd forbid you ever have a fire and it's knock down properties are much better than powder.

Edit on Sunday...
Halon is not banned, you just can't get it anymore. The MSA will not allow a racing car pass scrutineering if it does not have an AFFF system installed, but will not ban it for having additional Halon systems - crazy or what!
Sorry it's a wet miserable Sunday and I was tidying up and found this years MSA rule book

Thanks Malc. I also found a product called Zero 360 which uses DuPont FE-36 liquified gas, which is similar to Halon (ie, no mess, doesn't foul electrics), is legal in the UK and is FIA approved (although expensive).

Seems like AFFF is the best cost-effective/lower mess option.
