Drove 2 hours to attend the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix last weekend. Last time I'd been to a car show or vintage race was about 10 years ago, and I was excited to be able to experience both during the same weekend. Had a very pleasant drive to Pittsburgh on both days. My car ran great even when I got stuck in stop/go traffic for close to an hour on Saturday afternoon. The Allegheny BMWCCA Chapter hosted a great gathering of BMW's. I was happy to get the opportunity to meet other E9 owners, to see their cars and to hear their stories. Lots of other interesting and beautiful cars (American, German, English, Japanese, and Italian) to see during the Saturday car show. On Sunday it was nice just to sit back and relax and watch the car races.

Sunday - Vintage Sports Car Races
My car was parked in good company on Sunday. The other 2 E9's drove all the way from Toronto and Virginia.

It was wonderful to experience the sights, sounds, and smells of old racing sport cars again:

Does anyone know of any other events near the new York Ohio pa tri state area??? It's going to be a long winter on lake Erie with my new baby in storage!!!
Also, looking for vintage badges, I submitted to someone on the forum and am embarrassed to say I don't remember who...

Thanks

It is a fantastic weekend. I'm amazed that it is free to the public (yet not crowded), they have free shuttle buses to take you to the viewing spots around the course, a vintage race held on a beautiful hilly treed park setting with a view of downtown Pittsburgh, and of course lots of old & new cars on a golf course.

First outing

Hey ohio28cs, Just returned from vacation in Vancouver BC and checking to see what I missed. When I spotted your post. Very nice to meet you. Great pics, especially of our coupes. My car performed amazingly. On the way home we crossed the border and we were met by an incredible light show and a torrential rain storm, there was even flooding as we approached the Burlington Skyway. The coupe pressed on like a champ. I put about 700 miles on her. The PVGP is a great show and the BMW Allegheny Groupe are fantastic.
