if anyone is going to take out the lower dash part i would sugest
you reinforce the center section with a plate of steel screws into w/
small screws mne was very brittle and was difficult to get out now when it goes back in should be a breeze and o replace the wood shims with oak and
using wood screws to put it back

what is the use of this ?

BTW it is four threads on the dash, by the moment you finish with it they might be twenty ?

My anchors were rested and rotted out
so i had to replace the anchor point the new bases are wood glued
and now i dont need the inset metal nuts
and mine was weak in the middle
that good enuf for you
