Since my interior is completely out, I'm thinking now would be the ideal time to put in some insulating material to replace the pedal foam and reduce the amount of road noise and engine heat coming into the cockpit.

Dynamat seems to be the front runner, but also expensive.

Any recommendations??

Thanks in advance.

Dynamat Extreme..............Dynamat, Dynamat, Dynamat. It's worth it. Buy it on eBay in bulk and save good money. After trying other brands I am convinced Dynamat is worth the price tag.

Has anyone tried "R-Blox"?Seems less expensive and was recommended by "AutoRestorer"(non-advertiser supported magazine). Also, what areas of interior could benefit from application?Doors, floors, roof, etc?About how many square feet would be needed?

dynamat extreme

Second the nomination for dynamat extreme. Be forewarned: lowering road noise will only make the wind noise more prominent. I'd do it again though.

Good luck and make sure you are not simply covering rusted areas such that the dynamat is the only thing keeping you from pulling a Fred Flinstone and having your feet touch the road.

There are non-branded alternatives that are much less expensive than Dynamat. They lack the fancy logo crested foil backing, but still do a competent job of muting the road noise and panel resonance. I bought 0.25" adhesive-backed tar pads for about $2 sqtf to use on my floors. Once the carpet and padding are down, no one can see the logo...
