I am in the process of installing a new floor to my recently-acquired e9 project. It would seem that it spent 8/10 years with 50 mm of standing water in the floor well as a result of which the entire floor from the rear-seat support right through to the base of the front fire wall will have to be cut out and replaced. The channels are fine, as are the sills. The very bottom of the transmission tunnel is correspondingly suspect. My problem is how to achieve the change in floor level which occurs beneath the seat bridge and yet keep the turn-up at the cill consistent throughout its length. The front floor level is approximately 15mm higher than the rear and the change in level is clearly indicated by the detail at the rear end of the reinforcing channels. So far as I can make out no-one can supply a replacement panel which would involve a special pressing, of course. Anyone else hit this problem and come up with an answer? All contributions gratefully received, as ever. John.
