yep-
Shawn (my brother) won the BMW-Alfa shoot out this year by a car length. Supposedly an epic battle all weekend and had the crowd on their feet at the dash for the line.
We had wrench fest this week-end on my CS this weekend and was looking through the mag, I hear there's a pic of him in there somewhere lurking in the background.
www.vararacing.com for issue info??
....Victory Lane Magazine I hear has a bunch of pics too...
its funny, your don't start getting in the mags until you are 'photogenic'...
Three seasons the car was Anthracite (charcoal gray), now after he re-painted his car in the driveway one weekend (total paint time = 14hrs) similar to the old Schnitzer scheme (polaris with red), he's making the rags. Looks great at speed and from 15 feet....;-)
BTW- Almost got to drive my CS home after spell in the shop in Monterey, got the the new modern wiring harness sorted (still have some light/gauge issues) and she fires right up! It runs a bit rough after sitting for a long spell, so we got a tune/dail session to do.......but our new "Franken-Master" custom side exhaust sounds REAL B*TCHIN & MEAN!!
If only the Monterey Historics weren't this coming weekend, I'd be on the road (aarghh!!)........so I'm sorry to say that I won't make it to Turn 5 this year 'cuz we have not found the cause of lack of brake pressue (but I got to drive it 'ound the block using the E-Brake, so sweet!).....and nobody will be wrenching around Monterey this weekend.....
If there is a ex-factory CSL on the track this weekend......he better be ready to deal with a flying ex-Niki Laudia Zakspeed Ford Capri pulling 1:40s at practice yesterday.........(holy sh*t, my brothers flying CS now pulls low 1:50s...doh!)
We are sending up the TBL signal!! (soon Phil, very soon the King is coming)
have fun!!
