Hi all I'm looking for a bit of info on flwheels.
I have recently decided to build a new engine for my Coupe basically to groupe 2 spec with my own throttle body conversion. So I can keep the car on the road whilst I do this I purchased another motor (motronic) which came from an E23, Imagine my suprise when I found a manual flywheel attached to the motor there can't have been that many manual 7 series built? Any way to my question, one of the modifications I wanted to do was have an aluminium flywheel made (a friend works in an engineering shop and will do it cheap) using my CS one to take dimensions from, now that I have the E23 one will this one do instead? It would be great if I would as I could complete the whole motor built without taking my existing one out. I know they are slightly different but aside from the bits to make the motronic ecu work are they the same? Would a CS clutch work fine on this flywheel or would you need to mix and match clutch covers and release (throwout) bearings?
Thanks in advance
Gary
