Hello all,

Returning from the dead to offer up some goodies. In the far distant past (early 00's?) I picked up a couple of sets of wheels from another Bimmer nut. They were destined for my e9 or e12, but both those cars are long gone. I've been schlepping the wheels around ever since, and I've channeled my obsession from Bimmers to Beemers, so someone else needs to become their caretaker. I dragged them out of the barn and gave them a quick scrub to get most of the dirt off for the pictures.

First up, and arguably the rarer, is a set of four Momo Vega 6"x14" in 5x100 bolt pattern with the same backspacing and hub size as BMW 14" turbine alloys. I ran these briefly on my e9. Will fit e3, e9, e12, e28, maybe even your 5-bolt swapped 2002. Momo's Vega wheel was a popular option for Alfa Romeo cars in the 70's, so popular that the 4 bolt Alfa fitment is still available new as a reproduction. In my 20 plus years as a certified Bimmer addict and in the 16 years since, I've never seen another set for BMW fitment.

I media blasted these and started the job of polishing the faces before repainting. They're true, round and cooler than James Dean on a glacier. Just need the polishing finished and painting. Take them home and go traditional with black, be unconventional with a color match, or be a complete wanker and paint them red or yellow. They're priceless, but I'll take $800 plus shipping. You can pick them up in Hood River OR, or I'm willing to meet someone up to 50ish miles for $25.

The other wheels -- a set of genuine vintage Hardy & Beck 3 piece staggered 7"x16" and 8"x16" wheels -- the anti-Alpina. The center hub castings are dated April of 1980. Currently disassembled for restoration. The hub castings have been media blasted, and inspected and found to be true, round and free of cracks, and they have no scrapes, dings or marks. All 4 of the outer rims and the inner barrels for the 7" width wheels are usable (with cleaning, polishing etc.) One of the outers has minor curb rash, two others have small nicks/dings, all easily remediated. One of the inner barrels for the 8" width wheels was cracked. I had it welded, but I'm not satisfied with the cosmetics or the safety, so it will need to be replaced. My original years-ago plan was to replace both rear inners just for consistency.

Effectively what I am offering for sale is the centers. With these you can build a set of staggered 16's, or using step up hoops you could build 17's and have more tire options. I'm asking $1,200 for the centers, plus shipping (or again, pick up or I will deliver within 50ish miles of Hood River OR for $25). That's like $75 each in 1980 dollars! If you want the hoops I'll take $2,000 for the whole mess. If they don't sell disassembled, I'll likely go ahead with the restoration and sell later, for a bit more dosh...

I'm not on teh intertubes much but email goes to the phone too -- [email protected]

Cheers,
Tony
