What do I do about these fringes? I realize that by the end of the day I'll be ordering new upholstry, but in the meantime? Has anyone applied adhesives of any kind?

Any cheap tricks to reinstate the faded colour?

I've used some glue compatible with fabrics. It shows, but did slow down wear for a while. Definitely a temporary fix.

Haven't tried redying fabric, but from what I have read of others' attempts, you can't get an even finish.

Occasionally specialists such as Jaymic in the UK have the material in stock, but I believe it is getting very hard to find now. I don't think it's even made anymore. You may want to check with them.

I think a lot of people either recover the seats with leather or find a modern automotive material which they can use. IMHO that's ok unless you are really desperate for originality.

The seat fabric does get sort of "crunchy", especiallu in the back. My front seats are in good shape, but the back are pretty faded due to sun damage.

Perhaps we could find a custom cloth maker, or a seat recover-er may be able to point us in the right direction, if there is one on the board?
