When I sold my 2800CS I had the original 2.8L engine but the buyer didn’t take it. Said he would come back and get it but never did and doesn’t respond to texts. If anyone wants it, you can have it. The wife wants it gone. It needed new rings when I put the 3.5L in the coupe. No oil pan. Located in Palm Desert Ca.

could be nice to know the VIN of the engine, @rsporsche do you track engines from US cars as well?
as a rule i do not. that being said, i do have a CSL engine that was transferred into a different CSL, noting that that CSL is no longer with us. the number of this engine should be 2270321 as that was the number of BonitaCS' previous coupe that was sold on 31 oct 2023.
i know i would. my coupe came with a 3.5L and i never had the opportunity to get the 2.8L. if i had it, i might have gone a different route. the original 2.8L with higher compression, a hotter cam and sidedrafts ... i know i will love the euro b34 built by @sfdon with its even higher compression and injection
