I hope a simple question. Do the front and rear deck Emblems have rubber seals or do they directly attach?

No seal on front, originally a socket with emblem inserted like the rear which does have plastic gasket which a few members here may 3D print, it is long ago NLA. I never had a leak issue in the trunk without that plastic seal.

The front was originally a two piece design. BMW sells a replacement now that integrates the base. The rear was originally a three piece part, with an emblem, base and seal underneath. Here again, BMW sells a replacement that integrates the base and emblem, but does away with the seal.

In both cases, the replacement parts from BMW look quite good.

It is not entirely clear to me whether the gasket was a seal of some kind, or a filler intended to ensure that there were no gaps between the base and the trunk. In either case, as Chris notes, BMW no longer makes the gasket. There was someone offering a replacement gasket, but a couple of us who bought them thought the quality was not good enough. I am attempting to design and print a replacement for this part, but finding the right material/process has been a bit of a challenge.

BTS has the rear emblem gasket which a few members bought.

I don't think the gasket on the rear emblem would work as a seal, it only touches the trunk lid at the edge
There would be no seal between the 2 parts of the emblem

Some people have proposed the purpose of the rear one is to reduce scratching if you press on it, maybe
Or maybe it hides some misfit between the emblem base and the trunk, but the lip is less than a mm, so maybe not
