I recently bought a 1971 2800 CS and got my tags today. DC requires a front license. My 2800 has two holes for the license, one on each side of the center crease in the bumper. I am at a loss of how to mount a US tag on the car and have not been able to find a mount by Googling. Does anyone have advice on how to handle this?

That's the rear plate holder, perhaps others here with front plates can chime in on how they mount it, otherwise you may have to fabricate something.
Item 8 in this 2002 diagram shows what it looks like. I see them on eBay from time to time.

Front plate mount
I had the same problem here in CA. One day I found a simple black plastic plate mount for sale for a couple of bucks in Pep Boys. I put a small plastic spacer on each side where it mounts to the holes in the front bumper, so it sits flush. then mounted the plate to it. it fits nicely and I have never had any problems. It's been on there about two years now.
