I recently replaced my front shocks with Bilsteins along with most of the major rubber components.

I was hoping that it would improve the ride quality and reduce the rattles and noise that comes with driving the poor quality roads of Boston.
Didn't happen.

But recently a new rattle has developed that I can't seem to pinpoint (and feels like it's a little bit more that just a 40 year old car showing its age).

Is there anything obvious that I might be missing or that others have experienced?
It will be a few weeks before I can put it on a lift and I want to drive it now (if I can)

Thanks for the help.

I too had a similar experience with my 73. Put the car on the lift and found many of the struts and other refurbished suspension attachment points (all new rubber) were not torqued to specification especially my front and rear sway bars. After confirming all fastener points were to specification the ride greatly improved. I have no rattles just a shake in the front end at 120MPH - since SL is 75MPH here its not an issue.

If all torque specs are meet and done under load, the next is to look at the shock towers to make sure your Bilstein in snug and the shock tower nuts are also snug.
