So now I know my Italian delivery coupe should have the bi-color lenses - mostly orange with clear tips.
The problem is I don't like that look. I do like the look of the all clear lenses but have no idea which coupes they came on, how rare they are, and how expensive they may be.

I am not a Scalia Originalist, so the clear are fine with me. I have already stripped my overflow tank down to bare brass - beautiful. But to the horror of a a good coupe buddy.

If I decide to go with the clear I will have a pair of thinner euro orange lenses to sell. What are they worth, fairly priced?

Hi Steve,

I could see this turning into a deeper discussion. :D The all clear lenses are a modern take on the old lenses. AFAIK they never came in a factory e9.

Realoem doesn’t differentiate between euro and US. The funny thing is that if you look up the part number on mine you can get back to the e9 diagrams. The part number isn’t listed in the table though. Anyway, if your original lenses are made by Sidler they are probably worth $200 or so. One can get the repro euro lenses without the Sidler logo new from w&n for 32€ each. You can also buy sets on eBay for around the same price. Both w&n and eBay have the clear ones as well.

Part Number in RealOem:

Here are an original Sidler and after market Italian style for comparison, sorry the clear white one is on the car!

Interesting Markos. So I will keep my original euro lenses. Now where can I find the all clear and how much should I expect to pay? And so I conclude there were only three original lenses: euro orange, American orange, Italian orange/clear. Right? This is getting interesting.

Overnight shipping is 20 euros on orders of 300 euro or more for one more week.

Tea, how do they look to your discerning eyes? The comma they use with euros always jolts me a bit. How are the seller's ratings, can't translate. Your thoughts.
Paypal? I will have to do it through my son, mine is frozen.

Thanks, Steve

I bought and installed a set of clear lenses on eBay about 2 years ago. These came from Brazil, as I recall. Fit was not perfect, but with a slight 'reaming' of one of the mounting screw holes, and cutting off about 1/8" of the bulb reflector that extends out from the mounted assembly, they fit fine and look great. I used yellow bulbs, but painted the top of the bulb dome silver. This way, the bulb is literally not visible unless lit, yet fully yellow when it is lit. I did not like the visual contrast of the OE orange lenses on my nearly granatrot car.

The European supplied ones in the previous link may be a better fit than the ones I bought.
