Hi need some help Does anyone have a set or just know the piston size of a set of frt brake calipers ( 4 piston style ) for an E12 530i? Also the distance from center to center on the hold down pins for the same caliper?

Thanks, Rick

They should be the same as the e9/e3/2002ti/tii/turbo calipers. I have some I can measure if necessary.

I have a set of calipers that I am trying to find kits for them they are on a 2002. Larger than a 2002 34 mm but smaller than the E9 at 40mm mine are 38mm pistons and the pad hole distance between the holes is 80mm Can't seem to find any kits for these, starting to really wonder what they are from. I only have manuals for the E9 and 2002,no other models to check specs. Can you measure them. I have a set here of 3.0 calipers and they are bigger than what I have

Thanks, Rick

This car has vented frt rotors but there are no spacers between the halfs, there are marks where someone has ground down the inner edge to clear the rotors These are actually on a 71 2002 When I have done this upgrade in the past, we used E12 530i calipers or coupe calipers that is why I am asking here This one really has me guessing

Thanks, Rick

Very interesting! I'll get some measurements of the various calipers I have this weekend if someone else doesn't come up with the answer.

it is driving me crazy
Should it be present continuous tense or past tense?!
At any rate, can you post a pic of the caliper with ATE casting numbers and the positions of the bleed screws?

I will see if I can get a picture I am currently going thru an electronic meltdown, my laptop is about ready to die, lost my camera and my old flip phone takes so so pictures I will see what I can do I have also just powder coated them in a satin black so reading the casting numbers may be a little hard The bleeders are positioned right across from each other in the middle and the third one is in between the 2 bolts that keep the 2 halves together facing outwards , parallels with the bolts, not the usual at the top facing at a right angle to the bolts different

Thanks, Rick

OK got it figured out, started to think about what car brake parts were upgraded around that time and upon further examination of the calipers, they are Volvo 240 Girling calipers DUH ! Just about as hard to find as coupe calipers, kits even harder to find but got some coming

Thanks for all the help Rick
