1973 BMW 3.0 cs Dark Blue VIN # 2240587 - brought from Florida and would be an excellent project car that has been partially finished and has had rust repairs done already, but needs a good home for the rest of the work. Here was the description I bought from last year June 2012: “No rust or accidents, restoration project, engine runs with no smoke or noise, evidence of engine work performed, good oil pressure, not presently drivable, brake calipers rebuilt and needs installation of brake and hydraulics, includes lots of new and good used spares, tan leather interior good but needs a dying to be consistent” With that description and an on site inspection I bought it and transported it to Mississippi. All I have done is stored it in my warehouse and looked over the parts and found a few were needed and now have too many projects to start this one. It does have a sunroof – manual and has been painted a dark blue metallic, badly, needs to be stripped and resprayed but body is reasonably good, only rust I found was on the rocker covers in the front, very common and an easy fix, not in the body.
I have checked it out for the typical rust areas, (See Pics) along the fender uppers and in the engine compartment, on the firewall on the right and left side and in the passenger side and drivers side floor-pan, and in the spare tire well and those areas are clean, I agree on inspection that it hasn’t any visible hit damage and both the front and rear bumpers are there and complete, has new carpet-tan and there are many powder coated parts for installation, chrome is there but needs a bit of work to be bright again. It rolls and the E brake stops it but all the hydraulics are needed. Will need to be transported and I think I can get all the parts in the car but someone really needs to pick it up with room for bits and pieces. Good shells are going for more these days but I am looking for just to get some of my investment and money back and pass along a good project to the next fan. Triple side-draft Mikuni racing carburetors - interesting choice. Start with good bones for $ 6,350 photos at the site below.
