AR: Kent Bain is well respected as a restorer, and has done BMW's for many decades. Anyone remember those ARI adverts in the Roundel back in the 1980's? Buyers should check in with ARI on the details of the resto (looks great but need more pics).

Leather: I wonder why it's so wrinkled up in the rear. Maybe the old stuffing (pads) were reused and are deteriorating?

Still needs some minor stuff but the big things seem to be all done (body, drivetrain, suspension/brakes, interior). AC looks like it's not hooked up, but there's plumbing in the engine bay. Can't tell what sort of headers those are (you can just see one of the tubes in the engine pics). Nice rad, but I would have fab'd SIDE brackets instead. Wonder if the cracked dash is an older picture or if it still needs that done.

Looks like what my blue E9 would be if I put another $15k into it. Seems like a nice car, even if you want to use it as starting point to go up another notch.

Replaced upper control arms? Alpina wheels? They look like WEDS or something else. Used an aftermarket leather seat kit over original pads? Monster radiator for sure. Too bad they didn't clean up engine finish before install.

Alpina Shift Nob, the rule is that on any car with an asking price of more than 20K the seller is not only responsible for spell check but proper grammar.

Hi Guys,

Any thoughts as to what this 2800 might be worth if the PPI is clean?

Best,

I like the 25-35 range but there are issues that have to be resolved especially why so many things look right and then some things just look "not right"; how can the interior be "restored" yet look as it does with the cracks in the dash etc. Not saying it's a bad car at all but it makes other claims suspect so for sure a very detailed PPI is in order. It looks beautiful but as we all know a nice paint job can hide a lot. Also, it could be just the angle of the photos but it looks like the door creases are not really there. If you are interested you are absolutely spot on in seeking a good PPI.

Best of luck!
