I heard of pranks like that where your own friends disassemble your car and put it in boxes.
Having no friends is a way of preventing that. This one seems like a good deal.

DQ I need to send you a link to an insightful narrative of 10th century households in Cordoba. These men were wise...

I think it's a great deal too. Someone in the Northeast should buy this as next year's winter project :-)

Rent a work space for $100-$150/month

Ah if only I had 10 years, $10K and a garage.....

As long as you could work on the car regularly the cost to rent a space isn't that consequential
when the car will be worth +$50k. Let's say it takes 3 years. That's 10% of the value and 5% of your total expenditure ;-)

FWIW, you can't find "working space" for that price near Boston, but up in Maine or New Hampshire it's doable.

I had a good conversation with Scott, the seller. He is quite informative and straightforward about the car. Do plan on investing in painstaking body work.

I remember when I was in college and my mates would pick up my '62 VW Beetle and put it on the sidewalk outside a bar we were frequenting.

We picked up my friends MG Midget and brought it up the steps into the fraternity house. He freaked. We laughed. Kegger.

when i was in high school, we took a teacher's vw and straddled a creek with the beetle.

This may be a case that even if someone gave you something for free, it would cost more money and heartache than buying a good one from the start.

That said, this is a good deal and good luck with the sale.

Hey there, I am interested in this, specially if we can work it out so I dont have to pick it up til the weather gets better. My intention would be to drive down and pull it back on a rented u-haul one way trailer.
If its still available, please let me know.
I will try and send you a pm. Regards
