FS: CL - 16" Ronal staggered wheels 5x120

Ronal made wheels for Alpina but they all say Alpina in the center, I don't see that on these wheels. Something looks off.

Yeah I had my doubts too, that is why I posted to see if these were the real deal. The guy is certainly pitching them like they are. I figured if anyone was interested they could ask for some more detailed pictures. Would it say Alpina in the center front or back? All he showed was the back Ronal.

They have some pretty bad curb damage too, but if straight can be fixed. Price seems high regardless. I had never heard of Ronal making Alpina wheels so interesting what anyone finds out. Thanks Chris.

Well it is all relative. I wouldn't pay $1,500 for them, but they are nice wheels. Final did make alpina wheels. These clearly aren't from the same mold (besides the missing Alpina logo). I would say that they are much more rare than Alpina softlines. They are no more artificial than a set of coupe King Alpina clones. With that said, at this price point the coupe King wheels are a better value.

Seller claims they are real Alpina. When they were refinished the centers were sanded and the Alpina logo went away with the sanding. Same for the spokes not looking correct where they meet the barrel, sanded away.At least this is what he communicated to me.

So he wants $1500 for some sanded away Alpinas that need repair? Did a cave man do the sanding?

Mine say Alpina. It would be near impossible to sand that away. Why would you?

i saw pics of 14" ronals that did not say Alpina and looked almost identical. i questioned whether the spoke was as expressed on the Ronal as it was on the Alpina ... and i have the same question on these. I understand that Ronal sold the wheels at the same time as Alpina did, for less money ...

there is something quite odd about the spokes on these wheels where they hit the wheel.

I call bull****!

Agreed! It would take hours to sand away the logos, for what - to pain the barrels pink? Seller is full of it. They are real ronals and that should be enough. No need to tack on some BS Alpina reference.

The seller is lucky he didn't sand for too long. If you over-sand an Alpina wheel made by Ronal, it turns into this:
