NMNA - For the scary $18-$25K range this one doesn't look half bad. My favorite color (Other than Golf of course LOL). No mention of rust or any usual rust area money shots. Does say it has been garaged and light driving. Careful inspection would be in order. But on the whole, nice looking car.

this does look decent, certainly worth somebody checking it out ... its a whole lot better chance than most we have seen in this price range

May have seen this car at The Vintage when it was in Winston-Salem or at one of the vineyards. Looks decent for the asking price. Sounds like the inop stuff wouldn't take much effort to fix.

Going to see Sat. Plan on purchase if it is as it shows.
take a good long look and poke at the undersides and within the fenderwells, especially check out the "box" behind and slightly up above the tire.

look at the backside of the firewall from within both glovebox doors. take a lot of detail pix of anything you are unsure of and post them here ... many people will take a look and give you a helping hand.

good luck, i hope it is promising.

Interesting how the ad's Google map puts the car right off campus by the hospital.
That location is about 1/2 mile from my old fraternity house.
Enjoy the test drive!

I purchased today. Not perfect but much better than most I have seen in this price range. Some rust in driver' side fender. floors, shock towers, spare tire well are relatively dry. Will elaborate later. Purchase was way closer to 20 than 25. The car was one block from school and has been in garage there since mid nineties. Shade Tree in Raleigh has done considerable work on this car and some of mine , last nite we spoke on phone about their thoughts on car and they even sent me list of every single item that needed work from a list owner the asked them to made . This was when they rebuilt the transmission earlier this year.
Very happy with purchase

"automatic statis..."

Way to go Chuck! Looks like a good one. If you go the 5speed route, give me a yell, I might relieve you of that auto-boat-anchor-tranny. I sold my 914 today, as it were, and guess I will get serious about selling the blue coupe that we discussed...Hope to see you in the Fjord car soon.

Thanks, Dave. Asked wife this morning if she remembered you and our trip up to your place. I told her we had meet a good fellow that could probably guide us on this adventure.

Congratulations on the purchase. My car hails from the same area and is very similar. Not to mention, Shade Tree gave me similar info before I purchased my car. Do you know the ownership history?

Past 24 years in Chapel Hill, owned by family I purchased from. They think it was originally purchased new in Durham. Will try to trace it further when have time.
