I needed a windshield (cracked mine trying to put the seal on it when it was out of the car) and the supply seemed to have dried up. I tried BMW and all the usual aftermarket suppliers including installers. I worked on it for a solid week and the only place that had them were W&N. I ordered two thinking I could split the shipping and sell the other one to a grateful USA E3 owner. It turns out they ship them separately. Something to do with the insurance.
Now I'm stuck with a windshield that someone can order direct from W&N for the same price. I'm trying to entice with the seal, though. I bought this from a member as a back up in case the one I had didn't work. *Edit- early seal.
Local pick up is best. The box is giant. It's longer than a bicycle box.
I'm into this combo $775 but am willing to accept best offer.

*edit- If shipping is a must here are the specs:
est. 50lbs; 68"x11"x32"; my zip is 91001.

Hmm, no offers yet. Might have to put it up in the rafters for a rainy day.

Hi Ted,

Where about are you located? Local pickup is likely the way to go, but hard to assess the feasibility of this without knowing locale. I would pick this up in a heartbeat if you were nearby.

My understanding is that the early E3 gaskets are tough to find (or have been for the last couple of years), it is not entirely surprising that replacement glass might also be on short supply these days. This is a great opportunity for someone with an early car wanting to replace a cracked windshield.

Any specific reason it can’t be shipped? If it came from Nesch, presumably it’s already packaged safely and ready for a new shipping label to be stuck on and sent on its way? I ask because my ‘72 has a small crack off in the passenger corner—I’d love to replace the glass, but have been living with it until I come across a new Early style seal.

How did the windshield fit on your E3? Does it seem to be as good of quality as the original?

Alastair

Alastair-
My first post kind of lays out my reasoning for shipping vs not. As you can see, the windshield is in a box. I'm in SoCal or Southern California.
If you'd like me to ship this to you I certainly can. The shock sensor is still intact.

The windshield fit my Bavaria just fine- It's made by NordGlass. I cross referenced every number I could find to see if anything matched a domestic supplier but came up with nothing.

Bump. Still have the windshield for sale- was $610 including shipping from W&N. Feel free to PM me an offer but I'd rather not ship it.
