Already met its reserve. It's $70k currently.

Can buy at least TWO hardtop M3's for that, which look better.

M3 Coupes

Check out the prices for nice e30 M3 coupes at Enthusiast Auto. I don't think you can buy 2 for $70k, maybe one.

rag top e30 m3's are very rare. i would be very careful - at the price, you could attract fakes. the e30 325i convertible was plentiful - the swapping out of the fenders and engine replacement will get you the look, but not the reality. most of the e30 m3 VIN start with WBSAK03 not WBSBB05 ... then again, i've never seen a vin for an e30 m3 convert. the standard 325i convert starts with WBABB ... so could be right.

in looking at the rear seat - that's an e30 325i convertible rear seat, not the same as the e30 m3 ... its straight across at the top. the door panel inserts are wrong as well - they are horizontal in the e30 m3 - these are diagonal.

This one is real, it left the factory like this:

It is a steep price. But, if I were that well heeled, I would scoop it up!
I am sure that Mario and the boyz at VSR could start with an regular E30 vert and pop in the correct engine and bodywork. And probably for a lot less than $70K including a starter car.

It's a geniune E30 Convertible - one of the last batch of 475 (215hp catalysed) models produced.
As for the interior differences, yes these are different to the coupes.
Here's an excerpt from the M-Registry FAQ on this model:
How is the E30 M3 convertible's interior different from that of the sedan?
Like the closed car, the E30 M3 convertible's interior features sport seats, an M steering wheel (in one of two versions) and the M instrument cluster. The convertibles were also fitted with the "M3" door sill plates used on the M3 Evolution models. Cars equipped with optional leather upholstery have the M tri-color stripes on both front and rear seats, as well as unique door panels with diagonal pleating.

My only query would be why the mileage is quoted in....well, miles?
A Spanish delivered car should have a metric cluster.
However, if the seller is just quoting miles for the benefit of US buyers, then the odometer should be indicating around 70k kms.
Stunning car in a gorgeous color - wouldn't mind mind one of these myself. Asking price may be a tad high though.

I used to own one of these. I loved it as it handled as well as the tin top, but you could put the top down on sunny days. That is was so rare made it even more special. I bought it for £10k and sold it two years later (in 2011) for £15k and thought 50% profit was pretty good, until I see what they are going for now. I'd still love to have it, although the reason I sold it was to fund the purchase of my current CSL. So it was the right decision to sell...
