I reproduce the mud covers for our E9

Technical question for Experts...

It was told on the forum that these are mostly the reason of rust in E9s as they are gathering mud and dust.
Some told they should not be used to keep E9's last longer (for the cars with daily driving).

Will than Lokari be the solution and can replace the original small covers?

These were carried through on later year/ other model BMW's. I cannot imagine the engineers keeping something for years that was detrimental. Just my opinion but if the gasket is maintained , these work just fine.

Yeah, but also BMW stick to Karmann as a coachbuilder, and knew about the rust dilemma of our cars.

I'm going to install the provisions to install them (fastner wise) but I'm likely going to leave them out, and install Lokari's instead and give it a try.
