SOLD: Getrag 265 5 spd Overdrive Gearbox / known internals

I am selling one Getrag 265 5 speed overdrive gearbox. This 'box was recently disassembled, inspected and the necessary replacements were taken. In this case it was new rear main shaft and bearing and a new third gear synchronizer. New gaskets and seals were replaced throughout. This is not a fully rebuilt gearbox, but one of known internals. Know as being in good shape. This work was performed by Pete's gearbox service in the SF bay area. He has done over 10 gearboxes for the inner circle in Orange County and the results have been very good with each box he has inspected upon full dis-assembly and had deemed as "good''. This type of partial rebuild / as required work can be done on the 265 as it is a very tough box, when serviced. This is ready for reinstall and includes the critical speedometer drive gear. This box has one repaired (welded) mounting tab on the side of the intermediate case. If you are doing a full coupe restoration, then this is probably not your box. If you want a known good box, read on......
Additionally, this item includes 2 pieces of E9 unobtainium. A pair of custom designed E9 transmission adapter brackets. This part bridges the hole in your body bracket for the rear cross member mount to accept the longer 265 case. This allows you to use the original cross member and securely fasten 2 bolts on either side of access hole for the "T" nut. If you've done a 5 speed conversion the above makes sense. If it is your first time, these custom parts will give you the 'ah haa' moment / solution when you can no longer fit your stock rear crossmember to the body. Please don't cherry pick these brackets, this is one package.
