Looks like a great car for the money. I loved my Bavaria.

I agree, looks like the bulk of it is there and in good shape. Main thing I liked reading was the passion of the owner and the fact that it has been driving all these years is way better than being in a barn. If it wasn't California I wouldn't say that as much, but they still need to be taken out and driven on a regular basis. What struck me about this car was not only the blue plate and interior looking in decent shape but I found my Golf Bavaria much the same way. It had a real cheap re-spray of an off green color, it wasn't until I lifted the hood what I realized I had found. The rare Golf beauty. I almost crapped my pants but had to contain myself. luckily it was such a bad respray that a lot of the original paint was saved. He even knocked a couple hundred dollars off. So, if someone paints this original color again, they will have a great ride on the cheap. I'm really hoping someone on here buys this so that we see what original color is. I was tempted to get this and add to collection but I'm learning to focus on one at a time, sometimes that is hard to do when opportunity knocks, I think we all have that sickness!!!!!!

Gone....?

I drive by a sun baked, beached, blue plate E3 weekly. Hasn't moved is ages. The Ceylon paint is fading away...

Are E3 auto trannys easy to convert to manuals, 4 or 5spd??

Only in California... It would be worm food by now from here to the East Coast. Easy swap, bolt and play (lots of bolts). You should buy it, Celyon is a great color.

My coupe project was first acquired as a very sun-fried Ceylon thorough re-spray from the original Polaris.

"The force is strong in this one....."
;-)

Nevada is a rare and very cool color so that appeals. The rear seats, later wheels, 2.5 motor and stickers covering who knows what, not so much. It might be a great e3.

New owner found out he isn't up to the task...
