Hi orangener,

Hope you are well ! Do not get me wrong but are we sure this car is a CSL ? In other words, do you know the VIN # ?! Thank you very much for sharing it.

Yannick.

Servus Yannick! I had a phonecall this evening with the brother, he promised to send me a copy of the FIA-licence-pass (Internationaler Wagenpass).
I also wanted some other informations about the history of the car.
Lets wait till tomorrow.........

It doesn't matter if it is an ACTUAL CSL, only that it has a race history. Most of the privateer race CSL's from the 70's were not factory CSL's, they were CS, CSi's and 2800's.

When it comes to race cars the crucial factor is a logbook not a VIN number. Race car values are totally hinged on race history and not much else.

That was the word i was searching for........and he has one !

OK, so this is THE actual Gosser Beer CSL campaigned in 1976? Because any race car that races in any sanctioned race will have it's own logbook?

Because, I'm thinking it's not:

No this deffinatley is not the 1976 group 5 Gosser Beer car that was campained by the Snitzer team cos I know the bloke who owns that particular car and its in the UK and definatley not for sale. The same car has certificates of authentication provided by BMW from when they sent two men over from Germany and verified it was the genuine article as raced by Deiter Quester and Ronnie Peterson.

very interesting machine - looks great :D

I see that it's got a new Kugelfischer injection pump ... these things are worth their weight in gold 8)

I believe there was a Group 2 and a Group 5 car and this a Group 4 car.
